Elaine Construction Company's 3rd Annual Spring Spruce Up at Boston's Ronald McDonald House

Brookline, MA - On May 10, 2001, the employees of Elaine Construction Company arrived at the Boston Ronald McDonald House, located at 229 Kent Street in Brookline, MA to donate a day of their services. For the third year, twenty-five Elaine employees and subcontractors participated in a day of projects ranging from general repairs, painting and masonry to electrical upgrades for the 134-year old Victorian House.

Lisa B. Wexler, Vice President and Director of Operations explains, "the employees and principals of Elaine Construction Company believe the gift of personal time and resources is a great way to recognize and support the efforts and the staff of the Boston Ronald McDonald House."

Boston Ronald McDonald House Director , Andy Richards comments "We are extremely grateful for the day that Elaine Construction employees devote to the Boston Ronald McDonald House and the work that is accomplished on the physical space in that time. But the lasting impact of the day is on the families who witness this gift of volunteerism and kindness. This is the inspiration we wish we could give these families everyday. "

The Boston Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home for families whose children are being treated for cancer. The House provides support to the hundreds of families who stay at the House each year while their children are receiving treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital. Physical upkeep is crucial in maintaining the comfort and home-like atmosphere families expect from the House; Elaine Construction's gift is a springtime legacy that will be appreciated in any season.
